U10 Coaches,
Here are a few tips that might help you this season:

1) We play 5 on 5.  We also have goalies so 6 kids play at a time from each team.
2) We play 25 minute halves.  There is a 5 minute halftime break.  Please try to keep on time - especially if you are the first game of the day!
3) We have a referee for our matches.  PLEASE RESPECT THE REFEREE and require your parents to do the same.  We are setting an example for our kids on sportsmanship and we need to be aware that our actions will not go unnoticed.   Also refer to the WUSC Spectator Unsportsmanlike Behavior Policy on our website for more information.
4) Do your best to let each player play at least 1/2 the game.  It's up to you to determine when you want to sub players in and out.  Sometimes kids will feel sick or be tired on a Saturday morning.  Adjust your lineup accordingly and let them all play.
5) Snacks are up to you and your team.  Some coaches will assign parents to take turns bringing snacks for the team while other coaches don't.
6) We don't keep score and we don't keep standings.  There's no benefit to winning and there's no downside to losing.  You'll find some combination of players are strong and you'll be tempted to keep them on the field.  Remember that we're about the kids having fun - especially at U10 age group.  Let them play with their friends.  Encourage your kids as well as the other team.  Pat them on their backs and praise them - they're kids after all!

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask for help - either from another coach or from anyone else affiliated with WUSC.  We're all working together to help our kids have a great community soccer club.

Thank you for all your support of WUSC!
